The second Annual Kentucky Proud Art Fair will be held outside Good Foods Co-Op on Saturday, June 20 from 10 am–2 pm. This community event features Kentucky artists showcasing and selling their art, live music from local musicians, and local food grilled for the event.
Artists selected will be exhibiting work including beaded jewelry, vintage jewelry, macramé jewelry, soap, soy candles, hats and fascinators, wooden pens and bowls, pastel paintings, watercolor paintings, drawings, and photography.
Children’s activities include face painting and art-related projects by The Living Arts & Science Center and The Art Museum at the University of Kentucky. Representatives from The Living Arts & Science Center will offer a fun and easy printmaking activity using colorful markers - kids and adults can create a beautiful print to take home. Representatives from The Art Museum at the University of Kentucky will present folk art activities including stick art animals and people as well as thumb print paintings.
Casey County organic farmer Jerome Lange will start the music off with his bluegrass fiddle music. Local pop favorites Big Fresh will continue the musical festivities and Little Maggie will close down the fair with their Americana tunes.
Feast on soy dogs, Boca burgers, and homemade funnel cakes. Indulge in local meats such as Vito’s Italian sausages, Stone Cross natural pork hot dogs, and Colcord Farm hamburgers, made from all natural, grass-fed beef.
